British actress Emma Thompson has revealed that she will never have cosmetic surgery. Thompson, who recently turned 50, has said that she is looking to grow old gracefully rather than be ‘fiddled with’.

“I’m not fiddling with myself,” Thompson explained to Showbiz Spy. “We’re in this awful youth-driven phase now, where everybody feels they need to look 30 at 60. I hate that. The trick is to age honestly and gracefully.

“I’m taking a year off. That’s my birthday present to myself. I’m not going to act, write or anything like that. I’ll be a mum, teach drama at my daughter’s school, I’ll cook meals and have fun, go out with my friends, I’ll go to movies and not think about working. I’ll see what bubbles up after that.

“As an actor and writer, sometimes I think you have to stop creating and let your brain relax. I think it hones the appetite. I think that’s important.”

Being publicly against plastic surgery is in fashion with many of the Hollywood elite.

When looked at historically, many of the same actresses who speak in such a manner have had plastic surgery themselves. Kate Beckinsale is a good example. She spoke against plastic surgery, but was a former breast implant client.

The insider goes on to list a number of treatments Emily Maynard currently has done on a regular basis, including laser light facials “because it makes her skin look poreless on camera and the makeup glides on much more smoothly,” and Botox “to give her brows a slight arch.” She also reveals that Emily is “considering getting some lipo” and that she “panics when she has to be in a bikini on camera.”

So what about past procedures? The insider says Emily went under the knife a couple times soon after the tragic death of her fiance, NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, who died in a plane crash in 2004 – just days before Emily found out she was pregnant with her daughter, Ricki.

"I think facelifts make you look older, not younger," Barkin adds.

Barkin is so much against facelifts that she can't even stand to watch movies starring actresses who got facelifts. "I don't want to see someone I've watched in movies for 20 years and not know who they are, with their eyebrows somewhere in the middle of their hairline. If I see someone on screen whose face can't move to express emotion, then I'm no longer interested in watching them act."

On the other hand, Barkin honestly admitted that she once tried Botox, but it didn't like at all how to affect her, and dislikes the changes it makes in people who use it.

"The whole Botox craze, what it says to me is: "I am desperately unhappy with where I am in my life's journey, I don't like it, I want to disguise it, I want to erase it,"" Barkin continued. "Like: "I'm not comfortable being 30, 40, 50, 60." And I have issues with that."

Barkin admits that in Hollywood the pressure is too high for celebrities to remain forever young, but she has completely come to terms with her flaws and hopes that she won't fall prey to the pressure of having plastic surgery to expand her acting career.

"All of a sudden attention is drawn to: "Oh you need a facelift." I hope that I don't buckle under it," Barkin explains.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow of Newport Beach states: "I believe her completely. She still has excess upper and lower eyelid skin and laxity of skin in the neck. I think she looks amazing and I commend her for deciding not to have major facelift and eyelid surgery if she chooses not to. Plastic surgery is not a one size fits all undertaking."

Dermatologist Dr. Vince Afsahi of Tustin and Newport Beach explains: "Ellen looks good for 58. And this does not happen by chance. Radiofrequency devices can help tighten the areas of her neck while fractional lasers can help with pigmentation and smoothness of the skin. Moreover, her laugh lines look softened and her lips are plumper and full - likely from fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane."

Plastic surgeon and blogger Dr. Tony Youn of Michigan is quoted as saying: "Ellen looks fantastic, and is a great example of conservative cosmetic work done right. It appears that she's had her lips enhanced, likely with Juvederm, and some injectable fillers to her deep wrinkles. Her skin is smooth and wrinkle-free as a wax statue. If only all of us had the money to have all of these maintenance treatments, then all of our patients would look this good."

Plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Persky of Encino notices signs of the long-term filler Sculptra: "Ms. Barkin has excellent facial volume in the proper proportions, leading me to believe that she has an excellent Sculptra injector."

"She has had fillers to her lips and probably a facelift between 2004 and 2007," plastic surgeon Dr. Edward Domanskis of Newport Beach tells. Dermatologic surgeon Dr. David Sire of Fullerton agrees, as does plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia.

"I would counsel her to continue with her maintenance Thermage treatments," Domanskis advises. He also suggests that she might want to use filler in the folds between her nose and the corners of her mouth.

Barkin has stated that she regurlarly gets a skin-rejuvenating chemical Laser A-Peel and used to rub Retin-A on her face but convinced from a "facialist" who was against acidic products.

Dr. Christopher Zachary, chairman of the UCI Department of Dermatology, claims that Barkin is obviously confused, but he understands it. "Sometimes, the mumbo jumbo is just too confusing...so let me get this right...she has stopped "acid peels" on advice from her "facialist," and yet she is still using the "Laser a-peel"...which is, of course, an acid peel! I really feel for her and all the other beautiful people who are trying to understand the jargon dished up in expensive packages at the beauty stores. Sometimes, I think one needs a Ph.D. to get a hang of all the hype".

"In her defense, there is no doubt that long term retinoids (like Retin-A), peels, radiofrequency (Thermage), and the newer fractionated devices (Fraxel, etc.) can really make a difference, and possibly put off the need for more invasive procedures like facelifts," Dr. Zachary continues.

 Zachary adds: "Botox (or Dysport) and fillers go hand-in-hand ...to avoid one while engaging in the other is a bit like eating apple pie without cheese (it's like a kiss without a squeeze)."

Plastic surgeon Dr. Marcel Daniels of Long Beach absotely agrees, claiming: "Her opposition to Botox is unfortunate, as it would help her crow's feet. Her facialist's opinion on Retin-A is not supported by science as many studies have shown its beneficial effects on skin with regards to skin elasticity, collagen formation, and the deposition of pigment."

Di Saia goes even further: "She looks like she has had a good deal of skin care and her skin looks pretty good from what I can see. As I recall in years gone by she was a smoker. Considering this her skin looks really great. Sun and cigarettes are skin killers. Despite her comments to the contrary, the Retin A was likely helpful...I would keep her skin care going although Thermage plus peels plus Fraxel is kind of redundant in my opinion. "

The truth is that Barkin can easily be mistaken as a woman in her 30s. No doubt that her face seems absolutely flawless and smooth, which is impossible for a woman at 58. We all know that women at her age have sagging cheeks and a turkey neck. Barkin's cheeks are toned and bit frozen (indication for a facelift).

If you take a close look under her eyes, you will notice that Barkin doesn't have any bags under her eyes, which is a sign of an eyelid plastic surgery. On top of that, to get rid of any wrinkles on her face she apparently had botox, which was likely injected on her forehead.

Conclusion: It is highly possible that she has had some skin treatments such as chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, dermabrasion or other laser procedures. And Abel Mounir, of the "Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group", who has not treated the supermodel, thinks it could be that mother-of-two Elle could have gone under the surgeon's knife in her quest for the ultimate figure.

He told Closer magazine: "Her breasts look noticeably fuller and rounder - she seems to have gone from a small A-cup to a full C. Her bust is also very pert for a woman of 49, sitting high on the torso. This could be down to a very subtle and successful breast enlargement and having modest implants along with a lift to achieve a full, pert bust."

However, in an interview back in 2006, Elle stated she was against having surgery.

She claimed: "It hasn't occurred to me to intervene with the course of nature to date.I have a strong aversion to putting anything artificial inside my body. I don't even take aspirin."

Elle also previously credited a healthy diet and regular exercise for maintaining her figure.

She revealed: "I eat what I want, but I don't want what most people love anyway. I don't love bread, I don't love pasta. But I don't restrict myself."

However, celebrity personal trainer Nicki Waterman says Elle's larger bust area is unlikely to solely be down to exercise.

"Her lips are very subtly plumped, likely with Juvederm. I suspect that she's also undergone noninvasive skin tightening treatments, such as Syneron's Refirme, to tighten and smooth her face," he explained.

On the other hand, Elle Macpherson denies all the plastic surgery claims and believes not going under the knife is her "trick" to looking good.

She said: "I’m a 34C [bra size], absolutely natural. The face looks like the face I have, very natural. Not falling into the plastic surgery thing is my trick."

However, the mother-of-two admits to trying Botox in the past, along with other anti-ageing treatments.

She told "The Sun" newspaper: "It didn’t really work for me. I tried a bit of everything. You name it, I’ve tried it. This is as about as natural as you can get."

Ella Nolan has outed herself as the other recent Bachelor Pad patient of plastic surgeon Dr. Franklin Rose, the father of fellow contestant Erica Rose.

Nolan recently revealed she underwent a five-and-a-half hour operation in which she received a nose job, breast implants and liposuction to her stomach, thighs and hips, Life & Style reported Wednesday. 

"I got everything I wanted. I feel incredible," the 31-year-old hairstylist and single mom from Nashville, TN told Life & Style while participating in a September 4 photo shoot for the magazine.

"I can't stop touching my new boobs!"

The former The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love bachelorette said how she looked on television sparked her desire to get work done.

According to Dr. Rose, the procedures Nolan underwent were fairly drastic.

"We removed three liters of fat from her hips, thighs and lower abdomen," Dr. Rose told Life & Style.

"That should bring her down at least four dress sizes. Her breasts, a small B, were enlarged to a large C-small D."

During an interview with Reality TV World earlier this week, Erica Rose had revealed that in addition to Vienna Girardi, a second Bachelor Pad contestant had also recently received plastic surgery from her father but declined to identify the person.

"I can't reveal who, so I'm not going to, but actually another cast member recently went to my dad for plastic surgery. So, you're going to have to wait until the finale to see who that was!" she said.

"I don't mind helping other people look better. I'm not like that kind of girl that is competitive with other girls that way. I want everyone to look prettier."
